Hey, Old Navy. Japan called; they want their idea back.
"Once a part of the wonderfully named "Vermilion Pleasure Night," a sort of Japanese version of "Adult Swim," "Oh! Mikey" is a bizarre comedy show cast entirely with widely grinning, frozen-faced mannequins. Each approximately two-minute episode of "Oh! Mikey" is about an American family living in Japan. It often doesn't make a lot of sense (in that good Japanese way of not making any sense) and most episodes end with the characters laughing hysterically whether something funny is happening or not. Lately "Oh! Mikey" has been airing on the G4 network as part of their "G4 Late Night Peep Show" line-up."
I stumbled across this image while visiting one of the many poster blog sites I visit, and I had to share since we JUST recorded a full podcast devoted to the magnificent "coming of age" vampire love story, "Let The Right One In." I think it's a fantastic piece and was created by the very talented Rory Kurtz. Please visit his site RoryKurtzIllustration.com to view more of his wonderful work, and perhaps purchase one or two of his prints (yes, this one is available!)
I freely admit that I've recently moved past cautiously optimistic and over to relatively excited for the new Star Trek film. I'm a huge TOS fan so I really want this to be done right. The stellar casting choices have helped ease my concerns e.g. "Bones" below. They really couldn't have picked a better guy than Karl Urban to play McCoy.
Now this thing just needs to deliver on the story and I'm game.
I don't particularly care much for Harry Potter. However, I absolutely love these classic "Penguin Books" style designs. For more of these fantastic covers click on the link below:
The classic children's book is coming to the big screen! Directed by Spike Jonze - the film has been wrapped up in some controversy but now has a final release date of Oct 16. Check out the poster and the trailer in HD!
